Firstly navigate to your vCOPs admin page, i will demonstrating upgrading my virtual appliance to version 6.2.1.
Login using credentials with the Administrator Role
Click on Software Update in the left hand pane
Make sure you have downloaded the PAK update file from your my VMware portal beforehand and click Install Software Update, browse to the location of PAK file you have downloaded and upload the file. This upload process may take a few minutes.
Once the file has uploaded review the next screen, notice the node will be rebooted. You may need to arrange the upgrade in a maintenance window if you cannot afford downtime. Notice the build number we will be updating to.
Select Force installation and Reset out-of-the-box content if you wish to overwrite the previous solution
Accept the license agreement.
Wait for the update to complete and click Finish
The node will be rebooted and you will be presented with the login screen. Login and confirm the version number has changed.
